Over the last dozen years, I have been forced to live, learn, study, and research the property tax appeal process from multiple perspectives with information sources & reports coming in from several counties throughout Georgia.
I am informed by my own lived experiences, assisting others in their tax appeals, personal research, interviews, Georgia statute readings, and reports from other Georgia property tax appellants.
Over time, especially the last few years, the boundaries of my knowledge have been forced to dive deeper and reach outwards. However, my mission remains the same. Expose the secrecy and bring light to a process that every Georgia property owner is entitled to but so few participate.
To insult to injury, the property tax appeal process is being increasingly weaponized against appellants who fight for their rights to correct their assessments.
I’ve made many videos on the subject. I’ve also written a book on the subject. And yet, it’s not enough. In order to further educate the general public in a simple manner, I’ve tried to distill what I know into visual diagrams and charts. They lack detail but they provide an important overview for a broader understanding.
In this Arrow Chart, I outline the five major stages in which value assessments are settled. As you progress through the stages, there are different challenges but also additional opportunities to fight and correct your assessments and get your 299(c) value freeze. It’s important that every property owner understand the five major stages (and five opportunities) to correct your assessments.
Please keep in mind that this chart is for educational purposes only. It is general information only. This chart is subject to change and modification as I continue to learn and get additional insights into the overall process.
I wrote a book “TAX FREEZE: How to File & Win Property Taxes in Georgia” (available on Amazon) which will help you through your GA property tax appeals.
I highly encourage you to SUBSCRIBE to my Tax Freeze Command YouTube Channel as I teach the general public information never previously shared before.
