Lately, I’ve been getting requests from Georgia property owners asking for help on their property tax appeals.
I encourage people to be more proactive and be more involved with the property tax appeal process. If you don’t, you are at the mercy of the highly-inaccurate, highly-imperfect mass appraisal system every county uses.
I tell people all the time, “No one should care more about the property taxes you pay than you!” If you don’t care, no one else will either. Through this website, my YouTube videos, and my own tax appeals, I have shown I care an awful lot. It is important to me and it should be important to you.
Having said all that, I understand there are all kinds of challenges and constraints to doing your own property tax appeals.
If you want help from me, this is what you need to do to Get Started:
- Scan in the Annual Assessment Notice(s) of the properties you want me to help you with.
- Determine what kind of help you need. Do you need me to help you with filling out the tax appeal form? Getting sales comps? Inspect your property and take persuasive photos for your appeal? Do a tax appeal case write-up on your behalf? Negotiate with the tax assessors office? Attend a BOE hearing for you? The more you can do, the better off you will be. But I know there are some out-of-town property owners and some special situations where you may want me to help you with “everything”.
- Email your Annual Assessment notices to MattRealty1 at gmail.com with your phone contact information and the type of help you need.
- I review submissions on a first-come, first-served basis. I will respond to you privately. All submissions (whether you hire me or not) will remain confidential.
